The product identification block specifies the ordered material description, such as ASTM A106 Grade B, SA210 Grade A1 or IS 1239 Part 1 Medium class. It should also record the heat or batch number, quantity, dimensions and any special markings. Do not attach an IS 1161 YST structural grade to an IS 1239 product line.
The test results section presents the actual chemical composition (carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulphur, silicon, reported as weight percent to two decimal places), Yield Strength, Tensile Strength, Elongation percentage and any additional tests performed (hydrostatic test pressure and hold time, hardness, impact values).

Buyers also mistake general factory-level certifications (like ISO 9001) for material-level EN 10204 certificates. ISO 9001 proves the mill has a quality system, but it does not certify that a specific batch of pipe meets the chemical and mechanical tolerances of the ordered standard.
Before release, compare the PO description, heat identity, material grade and dimensions as one record, together with test results, signatories and inspection scope. A correct document type cannot cure a grade mismatch or broken traceability.
