How the Formula Works
The theoretical weight of a cylindrical steel pipe is derived from its volume multiplied by the density of carbon steel. The standard accepted density for mild steel (MS) is approximately 7850 kg/m³. The formula subtracts the wall thickness from the outer diameter to find the average diameter, then multiplies by the wall thickness, Pi (π), and density.

- WT = Wall Thickness in millimeters (mm)
- Density = 7850 kg/m³ (for standard carbon steel)
